Our vintage jumble sale

It’s 10am and I am still very much in my pyjamas, totally exhausted after our Vintage Jumble Sale yesterday. It was so wonderfully busy and buzzy and we loved meeting everyone – such a fun day, set in the most perfect village (I’m totally moving there) and with a gorgeous vintage tea prepared for us by Petal & Feast. Thank you so, so much to everyone who came, bought, drank tea, ate cake and said hello. I desperately tried to take some photos to capture the lovely day but it was too busy most of the time so here are a few (bad) snaps, mostly taken whilst we were setting up, just to give you a taste…

It was quite amazing how within an hour King Edward Hall (the perfect village hall and the stewards were so helpful and accommodating) was full to brim with so many gorgeous vintage homewares and jumble. All of our lovely sellers had so much amazing stuff – I’m almost in disbelief that I managed not to buy anything. I popped round to all the stalls a couple of times when I got a chance and kept on stopping and biting my lip and stuffing my hands firmly in my pockets. So much temptation (I’m totally regretting not having bought a jug from Michelle’s stall, wire baskets from Laura’s stall, some very cute French jars from Amalia’s stall and another jug from Jeska’s stall!).

Petal & Feast did the most incredible job of putting on the most wondrous vintage tea for everybody and it all looked so beautiful! Total vintage heaven and many happy cake eaters.

And, of course, there had to be some sort of floral faffery and Instagram larks going on at a blogger event…

Lastly, a massive thanks to our brilliant sellers who were all so wonderful: Laura, Amalia, Eva, Michelle, Hannah Jessica, Tori, Emily, Bianca, Renie, Eloise and Zoe.

I managed to sell soooo much stuff; I arrived home with just a tea cup and jug left over and a teeny tiny pile for the charity shop and my flat already feels better for it. Hurrah for #BloggersVintageJumble!

P.S. Thank you to Dean for being on the door for us and collecting a £1 entry fee that we are going to send off to Save the Children.

P.P.S. It’s now 11am and I am still in my pyjamas and have no plans on getting out of them. Who knew running a stall could be so exhausting?!

Styling Spring at{mine}

It seems like a life time ago that Charlotte and I teamed up with at{mine} to organise our second Styling the Seasons event. We had so much fun getting eight wondrous at{mine} members on board to style up some beautiful Bloom and Wild flowers in April and then choose their favourite styled surfaces from nearly 300 entries – such a touch job! We really were blown away by so many truly beautiful entries.

The judges and winners were then invited to a Spring floral workshop led by the super lovely and talented florist Caroline of Wild Rubus. Armed with more Bloom and Wild flowers we all set to work creating pretty Spring wreaths and May day posies at Homemade London, that runs bespoke creative events.

The beautiful Katharine Peachey was there with her film camera to capture the floral chaos and prettiness of the day. These photographs fill me with joy as it was such a lovely gathering and so, so lovely to put faces to those little squares of Styling the Seasons joy from Instagram!

Crafting the Seasons at Liberty

I have just had my dream day. It actually happened! Liberty of London, Liberty fabric, crafting, so many talented and creative ladies, a beautiful room, tea and lots of chat. My dream day.

Charlotte and I wanted to do something really special to thank the group of bloggers, that we contacted way back in August, who helped us launch Styling the Seasons in September. They wrote and styled beautiful blog posts and encouraged so many others to do the same. Charlotte and I would love to do another event in the future, open to others who have taken part in our monthly style challenge, as it’s so lovely to come together and be inspired by each other. We’ve got lots of ideas for the next event but more about that next season!

Our Liberty print creations will feature in our December Styling the Seasons posts, hence the Christmas theme, but in the meantime, I thought you might like to see some photos from the day photographed so beautifully by Katharine Peachey

P.S. If you would like to join in the Styling the Seasons fun, all you need to do is style a surface in your home to represent what that month means to you. Share a shot of your styled surface on any day of the month, tag me and Lotts and Lots so we can see and use the hashtag #stylingtheseasons. Maybe we’ll see you at our next event!
